60 Days to seed. Heirloom. The classic Italian basil for pesto and fresh eating because of it's bold flavor. Large pointed dark green leaves on robust plants reaching 15-18". Plant in the hottest part of the garden or in containers. Basil is a short lived annual so succession plant once or twice for the freshest supply during tomato season. Sow in Spring after temperatures are above 50 degrees. Can be started indoors 3-4 weeks before transplanting out. Prefers average to fertile soil, average moisture, and full sun. Pinch back leaves to discourage flowering. Zones 3-12 ocimum basilicum
