55-60 Days. Heirloom. A custom blend of our best selling kale varieties in green, red, and black(Lacinato). Very best flavor in cooler temperatures, although Vates does hold it's excellent mild flavor in the heat. This is a great option if you like baby sized kale for variety or for full grown production. Sow indoors in late winter for transplanting out in mid-Spring. Can also be direct sown as soon as soil can be worked in Spring. Kale prefers rich, well amended soil with consistent, even moisture, and full sun. Leaves can be harvested at any stage. Use raw, sauteed, in your favorite recipes, or in juicing. Great for making kale chips. Can be frozen or freeze dried to preserve. Easily a 3-4 season crop depending on your area. Coverage may be needed in colder climates.
